Post sound card configuration


hi

i have sound card problem, and the main thing i am new to linux, i dont even know some of the commands,
i tried to configure the sound card then, first i got an error that
there is no pnp pci cards found, then i tried to install it from a list
then i got an error like:
/lib/modules/2.2.15-4mdk/misc/es1370.o:init_module: device or resource busy
soundcore :device or resource busy
pls help me
wht this suppose to mean
bye

It usually means it' wrong driver. Try with others.

Mandrake 7.2? What kind of soundcard do you have? Is it pci or ISA? The difference is that the interface to the motherboard is either very long (and usually black) or short (and usually white). ISA cards aren't as easy to set up, and aren't even found on newer motherboards anymore. Also, why such an old distro?

Have you tried running sndconfig, as root, from a terminal or the command line?
