sound card blues...

with Mdk 8.0 my sound card worked fine but now with 8.1 it sounds really horrible, very scratchy and such...

anyone might have a clue why?

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of 'upgrading' between minor releases for this kind of stuff. Either the OSS drivers are acting wonky... there is a chance you just have something funky going on with your mixer, or quite easily, HardDrake got confused in set-up and is just using the wrong driver.

What kind of card is it? and do you remember what module it used before you changed over?

i think i heard this before - it had something to do with the kernel sound card modules... is it one of the es137x cards?
