SONY NET MD MZ-NE410 issues

(MINI DISC PLAYER)

I keep running into dead package links

on this page:
http://lifeofageekadmin.com/sony-netmd-on-ubuntu/

sudo apt-get install python-netmd qhimdtransfer
resulting error: Unable to locate package python-netmd

I was able to install

qhimdtransfer
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

and minidisc-untils

http://www.minidisc.org/NetMD_faq.html#_q80
Open/NMD Project and GNetMD both result in dead links.

I would like to transfer files in a gui interface.

I am running ubuntu-mate latest beta release.

Hello again...

So did you install these two packages using Synpatic? From what I see here, these should be the only ones you need. I installed them just a little bit just to see what would happen and the only other packages that were needed were three libsox dependencies that Synaptic also took care of. The program, QHiMDTransfer, came up fine. Please see my screenshot below.

If you try and bring up "qhimdtransfer" in a terminal, are there any other errors besides the segfault?

Regards...

I reinstalled qhimdtransfer via synaptic.

qhimdtransfer detects my MZ-NE410 but none of the options function whatsoever.

I also had the segfault when running qhimdtransfer, I solved the issue by running it with elevated privileges (sudo).

Hope that solves it for you!
