sony hc20 minidv


hello, i have recently purchased a sony hc20 minidv camcorder. it came with video software called picture package that is terrible. i hook the camcorder to my pc via usb and picture package allows me to copy the videos from the camera to my pc. is there a way for me to do this same thing in linux? i do not want to purchase a tv capture card, so is there software that will allow me to copy the video using linux? thanks in advance
