something went wrong with up2date / rpm


my screen is flooded with these message when I use up2date

error: rpmdb: damaged header #346 retrieved -- skipping.

what is going on? I tried the rpm -rebuilddb and it doesnt help

Try this command:
rpm -qa | sort | less
which should give you a listing of every rpm in the rpm data base. You can check to see if they are all there and accessible.
