Something is terminating the xterm process

Hi,

I'm using an Aigo P8860 running some variant of Midinux / Red Flag linux.

My (basic) hacking has gotten an xterm up and running. But it only seems to stay open for perhaps 2 minutes. It then - irrespective of what I seem to be doing - gets terminated.

What could be causing this behaviour? How could I stop it?

Where in the logs could I go to see what the issue is? (I've grepped for xterm in /var/logs to see if xterm is mentioned, but I don't see it.)

Many thanks,

Robert

Try using another terminal program, launch xterm from it so you can see any output when it dies to get a better idea of why it's dying.
