something about configure

why doesn't ./configure work?

sometimes when I use sonfigure command, It will say that there is no such file or directory.

what is that?

Configure is not a command, but rather a script that some developers use to help configure the Makefile (and other settings) for your system. Some developers don't use configure scripts, but it should be addressed in a README or INSTALL file that will usually accompany most packages. If not, check the sites documentation.
