Some Problems Fixed
 

Okay, I got Win2k and Linux to work now, but I don't want to have to use this boot disk...

Is there some simple process that will let me choose when i'm booting up? More than that, though, I want to do away with this boot disk...

P.S. Red Hat 7.1, 16 meg boot partition (hda2), win2k partition (hda1), and linux partition (hda4).

you can install either lilo or grub as your boot loader.. or i am sure there is a way to use w2k and boot to either linux or w2k.. check out the boot howto's at www.linuxdoc.org lots of documentation there about ways of dual booting without using a floppy boot disk.

The How-To's all deal with setting up lilo/ntloader when you're first installing linux. While I could try to improvise it based on that, I would rather not risk making either of my OS's unbootable. If you know of a document that tells how to make an install of linux that boots off a boot disk start booting off of the HD, I would be grateful. Thanks!

To dual boot you need to have a boot loader that can boot both systems on the MBR, so the previous post was the correct answer. What you need to do is create a boot/rescue disk for each system and set up the boot loader as outlined in the How-Too.
