Some init processes fail on boot

Hi,

I have just replaced my old server with a new one and fitted SuSE 9.3.
My probem is with a couple of bootup processes. I use Webmin to create
new startup and shutdown processes but the ones I created for
webmin(ssl) and fetchmail don't seem to work correctly (or the
processes die before the end of the boot process). both will run
manually after boot completes. I have also checked that sshd starts
before webmin.

I checked the boot.log and sure enough the two processes are started
but they aren't running after boot completes. the logs don't show that
they have been shut down either.

In an attempt to resolve the probelm I have edited the symlinks in
/etc/.init.d/rc.2,3,5 etc and changed the order so that these processes
are the last to be started e.g. @S20Webmin etc.

is it possible to increase the log level of 'init' so i can see whats
going wrong or does anyone out there know what the problem could be or
how I can resolve it.

Cheers

Corbiere
