some general redhat 9 questions
I have finally managed to sucessfully install redhat 9, and now I have several questions that arose in the process:
1) why are linux fonts blurry?
I realise this is due to antialiasing, but partially, especially in mozilla, the fonts are pretty blurry, and not as crisp as they are under windows.
I have "subpixel rendering" activated in the font properties, as my screen is an LCD, but still the quality doesn't come close to cleartype and windows xp..... any ideas?
2) how do I upgrade mozilla?
My current mozilla version is the bundled 1.2 version, but how can I upgrade to newer releases such as 1.4 or 1.5a? I don't want two installations, so I need to upgrade the 1.2 version.
3) two days ago I used up2date to update all available components from the redhat network, and this included the kernel. when I now start the PC, GRUB gives me an extra option for linux. one for the old, and one for the new kernel.
What did I do wrong? Why would I need the old kernel still?
4) I am currently using Evolution as email client, though someone mentioned procmail to me. it's apparently pretty popular, though I cannot figure out what exactly it is. Do you know?
Thanks a lot in advance for your help,
- Bernhard

2. read the documentation
3.you can have many kernels to choose from, thats normal
4.if you search google for procmail you'll get all the info about it..
please try and solve your problems first, read documentation, read man pages, search google, search forums, etc.. then if you still have a problem people are here to help you, but you have to try to help yourself first
