Question Some fonts print, some fonts don't!

Hi all, I'm running SUSE Linux Professional 9.1 and OpenOffice 1.1.2, and have recently encoutered a little problem.

If I create a Write document with a certain font (I've seen it with both Trebuchet MS and Luxi Sans) when I print the document I get (the correct number) of blank pages, as if it's printed the doc in invisible ink, but if I change the font to Times New Roman it prints fine. Any ideas?

The printer is an HP8100 on an HP JetDirect card but I've also got the same problem on my USB Epson Stylus C62 at home.

thanks in advance,
Chris

Hi, thanks for replying.

I'm having a little trouble running the xlsfonts command (still troubleshooting that one). When I try I get:-
linux:/home/cneal # xlsfonts
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: Invalid MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 key
xlsfonts: unable to open display ':0.0'
usage: xlsfonts [-options] [-fn pattern]

I can confirm that I can select the fonts in application menus and I can view them onscreen: I just can't print them.

Below is the fonts section of my XF86Config file, in case it helps.

Chris

*****************************
linux:/home/cneal # xlsfonts
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: Invalid MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 key
xlsfonts: unable to open display ':0.0'
**********************************

for the above error try the following

#su -

#xhost +

#xlsfonts

that shud work ...

xhost + is not a safe command as far as security is concerned

after u get the list of installed fonts

#xhost -
