some amsn questions...

hi,
I want to install the amsn messenger on my AMD-K6-2 with SuSE 8.0 on it, and I have these questions:
1.on the amsn website theres a installer you can download ( a *.bin file)...but I have no idea how to get this thing working.
2.I've also downloaded a i386 rpm, but when I try to install this it says it needs to work...because I didn't find any i386 rpm,...I downloaded a package containing the files:
"libtls1.50.so", "pkgIndex.tcl" and "tls.tcl" -> what must I do with these files to make tls work?

thx in advance,
KurtB

Hi KurtB!

Welcome to LinuxQuestions.org. If you've got the bin, try running:

sh whatever_it_is.bin

or

./whatever_it_is.bin

Cannot remember exactly, nor I'm on a Linux machine right now, but that would work. I think it's about time to AMSN to fix their faq page too

Good luck mate!

Note: this maybe can also help:

Cool .

Try "whereis amsn" without the quotes. Usually it installs to the same folder where the bin was(I'm not really sure about that anymore, it has been ages since I last used amsn). You should be able to run the executable by typing ./amsn
