Soldier of fortune install


ive just downloaded a copy of soldier of fortune.tar and since i know little about installing programs (my previous knowledge was the simple compilation of a program, with help troubleshooting), so i was wondering if i could get help installing it.
im on Ubuntu 8.04

You should be able to just double click on the .tar file in Gnome or KDE's GUI and extract the contents. Extract the contents into a temp folder somewhere on your drive. I usally have a temp folder in my home directory but feel free to do it wherever. You can even extract it into a folder on your desktop if you want.

Once the file is untared it will probably have a bunch of files and a readme.txt or a install.txt. Inside one of thouse files there should be step by step instructions on the command or steps to take to install the game. Typically if it is a linux native game you just have to type: sudo sh insertinstallfilenamehere but it all depends.

If you have any quesstions post the readme and I will help you out.

I've tried the sh setup.sh but i got a error:
