software update, now no sound, kaffeine & amarok work
 

Have Suse 11.1. Accepted software updates. KDE 4.

Now I get no sound out of applications. Kaffeine and Amarok go merrily along as if all was well. The bootup and shutdown music work fine. Sounds like a broken link/path to the speakers.

Multiple soundcards. Have set up the order. No sound from test sound in control center.

What would be the software to reload and/or set up?

Found it. The output had been bounced to another card and the main card had switch settings changed in a bad way.
