Software to synchronize your files between two systems?
Hi,
I regularly use both my desktop PC and my notebook to do my work, depending on where I currently am. What is really annoying however is that this results in having all my stuff spread over two systems. If I take a note in Tomboy on my PC, it's not on my notebook, where I may need it a day later. If I work on a project in Eclipse and don't commit, I can't continue where I left off on my notebook, and so forth. So, is there a software which takes two nodes, a couple of directories and synchronizes them? Preferrably something with a nice, usable GUI giving me feedback when I overwite old files etc. I'm using Linux since 3 years now and this has bugged me for a long time now, any hints appreciated (I'm still waiting for the day where you just do all your work over a network and store the data on a server where it is available to you from any place in the world which has an internet connection, but oh well). Thanks in advance. |
