Software to edit media filenames (TV and Movies) so that they are correctly scraped by Kodi

Hi.

I have collected masses of TV Shows and Movies over the years and am trying to sort them out, so that Kodi can correctly pick them up under its TVDB scraper.

The problem is that loads of the files are either incorrectly named or not being picked at all.

Is there a decent program that I can use to correctly change the file names?

All I need is to change the file names - I don't need to add any .nfo files or metadata to the folders themselves.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks

mv, rename, bash substitution. The first 2 have variants that may handle multiples better if you can define a representative pattern.

I’ve always used FileBot; works really well and queries external sources to get proper titles.

Thanks for that.

FileBot looks like a really interesting bit of software - 6 USD seems pretty good, if it fully automates everything.
