I thought that embedded meant "we can not chose to have the subtitles on or off, they are always on".
Thanks
Technically, you can also embed subtitles as a separate track that can be turned on and off. Essentially, you're embedding the content of the .srt file within the video file so that they can be distributed as one file - but it isn't a part of the video track.

Yes, your second file had the subtitles as an overlay on the video track and wasn't an option under the subtitles track I don't know what you did differently this time and I've never used HandBrake, but my guess is that there's an option in HandBrake like VLC to overlay the subtitles (rather than embed them as a separate track) and you selected this option the second time.

I'm glad you've sorted it

In terms of file size, I'm no videographer, but I think you've probably got as good a file size as possible for the quality of the video. You could try other video codecs, but I'm not sure to what extent you'll get a better result (overall).

I don't want to post it here because everyone will have it and it could be wrong and full of mistakes, how can I send it to you ?

I'll drop you an e-mail

I'd recommend removing your e-mail address from that post to reduce the chances of you getting spam e-mails.

Yes, when it comes to viewing videos locally on computers, there are mainly three types of subtitle methods; 1) subtitles in its own files, side by side with the video files, 2) embedded in a video as its own track, along with the video track and audio track, and 3) "burned on" or overlaid onto the pictures of the videos as a permanent feature.

#1 and #2, one can turn subtitles on and off. #3, one cannot.

#1 is for the easiest way to set up, edit and share subtitles, #2 is for the convenience of sharing videos with several languages as a single file and still be able to turn on/off subtitles, and #3 is for most compatible with video players (or websites) that may or may not have the ability to display subtitle tracks.

The final destination of a video is what determine these options.
