software RAID1; system doesn't boot
Hi all,

I've followed this guide step-by-step to set up a debian etch system with software RAID5 + LVM and RAID1 for grub/lilo to be able to boot:

everything goes well, grub even installs on /dev/md0 (the RAID1), but when the CD is ejected and the system is booted, it fails with message: no system disk...

What do I have to do now?

Does it fails before trying to boot or during the boot process?

I believe you created the RAID after you installed the OS, not during the OS installation itself. If the failure occurs during booting, it might be because your kernel doesn't have required drivers. In that case you have to create a new initrd image.

But if it gives the error even before getting to grub, the info you gave is not enough to tell anything specific.
