Software RAID..
Hello ..
I have a centos 6 system installed with a software RAID1 .. then after a couple of years I realized I made a mistake cause I need the space on the other hard drive.. is there a way to disable software raid for good without having to reinstall the system?? cause I can't afford to format and start over cause I have so many softwares and modules and stuff installed.. any help would be really appreciated.. Thanks.. |
Well, you could degrade your raid 1 to a single disk by removing the disk you want to use... not exactly what you asked but it'd work. "Remove" as in mdadm not physically :)

For the most part mostlyharmless may have the easy answer. I have some computers that have drives that have gone bad and just left them until we get some maint time.
It has been a very long time but I feel sure I read how to undo it for good. |
