Software Installer under Mandrake gone beserk

I think my MDK automated Software Installer has gone beserk. I selected a few files to install, it showed a total of 30MB, so its not that bad, I thought....BUT it started to download long time ago and now it is waaaay past 30MB. Now its well over 100MB. What's up with that? Is there something wrong with the install process or its normal to underestimate the size of the download?
help people, cause its sooo frustrating to endure such a strange download on an 56k link

what are you trying to install/update? you might be getting tons of deps that it didn't tell you about. if you used urpmi it will tell you all of the deps and how big the whole install will be.

i just reinstalled my mdk9.1 and did the updates that came out to be 250m, so if your doing that you'll be waiting a while.

cheers.

I was trying to update mozilla and a few small progs. Anyway, I killed the update. The same thing happened just now with Licq. It got lost at dependecy resolving. Waited a LOT for that tiny program..For the time it took it probably downloaded more than 10megs,..for Licq?..By the way I use the vanilla Mandrake8.2 software installer.
It truly is an RPM dependency hell, as they say. Why can't they make the stupid thing work well! Damn RPMs!!
I think I'm gonna get me some Debian real soon ;)
