Software for bibliographic database creation/query

Hi all
Just want to know what is ppl using for bibliographic reference managing. I installed bibus and it seems nice, but's too early to say what I think.
It would be desirable that the software could

- have either win and linux platform support
- consult online science (specially biology/med) databases
- import/export a variety of formats
- be reasonable with sql demands

the linux version needn't be friendly, but the win does need.

any suggestions?

You might want to take a look at Tellico at http://www.periapsis.org/tellico.

It's a KDE application (sorry, no winders) for "collections" but exports bibliographic data with ease -- does searches and imports at Amazon, Library of Congress, and other sources, works quite nicely and, well, it's free. I'm using it for my library and for research materials and it's handling over 2,000 titles efficiently.
