So how is desktop search working on KDE? (Strigi/Nepomuk)

Just a bit of a question on how desktop search is working in KDE. Right now I have Strigi/Nepomuk working. If I go in to system settings and then desktop search I actually see Strigi index any folders where I create and/or delete files. But if I do alt-f2 "strigi" I get a program with 4 buttons and if I type anything into the field in the bottom, I get an empty screen. So it doesn't seem to do anything with the info it's indexing?

But if I do a control-F from within Dolphin and I search, it finds programs, but it takes time to search. Isn't the point of all the indexing that it should appear instantly - the way beagle did in Gnome back in the day? Or am I expecting the wrong thing?

Strigi IS doing something as when I click on "content" I can see a file that I created with the search term inside it.

It's just a bit mysterious how it all works.

Any clarification would be great!

NOTE: I searched for Strigi on here and unlike most of the threads I found, this is not a complaint or "OMG it takes up so much ram". Ever since the most recent KDE updates it seems to not be as much of a resource hog.
