What distribution are you using and how did you install snort? I use snort on my gentoo machine but all the startup scripts were done automagically by portage.

hi crash_again. i am using redhat 7.3, snort 2.3.2 from snort.org. they provide a snortd daemon script but link is old. can i see your snortd script in /etc/init.d
