I have two RHEL AS4 Update4 + LifeKeeper to implement HA.
And two RHEL4 are vmware OS.
I followed the following site to enable lifekeeper snmptrap.
http://licensing.steeleye.com/Linux_...nmp_config.htm
I edit the /etc/snmp/snmpd.conf as follows:
com2sec local 192.168.11.0/24 public
group localgroup v2c local
view view_all included .1
access localgroup "" any noauth exact view_all none none
I tried to add the "defCommunity private" and restart snmpd service but /var/log/messages shows that unknow token DefCommunity then I think
net-snmp 5.1.2 on my RHEL4 box does not support defCommunity directive.
Accoding the page above, I think snmp for lifekeeper envent should be
sent with public community name. I enabled lifekeeper snmp as follows.
# lk_configsnmp 192.168.11.4 ==> SNMP manager IP with RHEL4 installed on my lab.
Then, I manually failover the lifekeeper HA resource and use lk_log to see
lifekeeper SNMP log. Then, I found the following error.
*** Error: snmptrap returned for Trap 120: No community name specified"
About the snmptrap code for lifekeeper, pls refer the following page.
http://licensing.steeleye.com/Linux_...r_logfiles.htm
I tried to use snmptrap to send the trap to my snmp manager. It works fine.
# snmptrap -v2c -c public 192.168.11.4 uptime .1.3.6.1.4.1.7359.1.0.120
I ran snmptrapd -f -Le on 192.168.11.4 and recieved the following snmptrap after running the command above.
SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTrapOID.0 = OID: SNMPv2-SMI::enterprise.7359.1.0.120
Any idea about the snmp no community name specified problem?
