SNMP Traps

Hi,

I'm trying to configure Net-SNMP. I would love to know how to manage traps. What should I do specifically. I've been hours checking websites trying to know how to setup traps but i didnt find anything.

I'm looking forward to configure the agent in order to send a trap if something happens. For example, an interface goes down -> send a trap to the NMS. Another example the disk space is 20 percent full-> send a trap to the NMS.

If someone knows, please, help me with this.
Cheers

For the two examples you give I would suggest that actively polling from the NMS rather than just listening for traps. At least with active polling if you can't reach the server or get and answerback for the disk space then you can raise an alert rather than just accepting that everything is working until it complains.
