I'm having problems using SNMP to connect to my router. When i use snmpwalk/get on a Windows 2000 machine (which is connected on the LAN) I can easily connect to the router and get all of results.... However when i try to use it from my linux box (Redhat 9) it is a different story ...
Code:
[root@spooked]# snmpget -v 1 -OS -c public 192.168.0.2 system.sysUpTime.0
SNMPv2-MIB::sysUpTime.0 = Timeticks: (197938) 0:32:59.38
[root@spooked]# snmpget -v 1 -OS -c public 192.168.0.1 system.sysUpTime.0
Timeout: No Response from 192.168.0.1.
[root@spooked]#
192.168.0.2 = Redhat Machine
192.168.0.1 = Router
So why does it work on my windows machine and not on Redhat?? Could it be something to do with iptables stopping it? I can't see any unusally log entries in 'messages'
Thanks for your help
