Snmp

I'm currently running Asterisk@Home.

I would like to install an SNMP agent so I can monitor the disk space on the server.

Any suggestions?

Okay...I'm probably the biggest n00b here.

I've installed Net-SNMP and created my snmpd.conf file. How do I start snmpd?

I've typed 'snmpd -c snmpd.conf' and nothing happens. I try using a MIB browser to look at my Asterisk box but I've had no luck.

This is what I'm getting back:

Code:
[root@asterisk asterisk]# service start snmpd
start: unrecognized service

Ok...I finally got snmpd to start.

Now, how can I get this to start any time the server reboots?

Presuming you have a RedHat variant (presumed because you used "service start snmpd" (hint: you want "service snmpd start")) then you do:

# chkconfig snmpd on

Me too; however the internet is littered with too many people "asking questions" without any answers attached to them, so we should clean up what we can where we can. So this answer is more for Google than for anyone in particular.
