snd-hda-intel , snd-hda-intel.ko ; same thing???

Is there a difference?

If so, can I re-code the .ko module?

Thanks...

Yes, 'snd-hda-intel' is the name of the kernel module which has the .ko (kernel object) extension. You're free to change the source code and re-compile if that's what you mean.

Thanks ferrari! K-ernel O-bject. Great answer.............

Since they ARE the same thing (w/ and w/o .ko extension), no mods necessary, I hope.

I had an inkling that it was a file extension. Shoulda' Googled 'file extensions'.
