SMPP Gateway

I'm looking for an SMPP Gateway Software package, that will allow SMS servers to bind into it, and pass SMS traffic. Of course I want this to run on linux.

The only thing close that I have found, is Kannel, but don't believe that this will allow SMPP Binds into it. From what I have read it will only allow you to bind into SMSC's.

So 2 questions:

1- is there an SMPP gateway package that runs on Linux?

2- are my assumptions on Kannel correct?
