Lightbulb Smp

Hello all,

I need some links if any of you has some, afte using linux for a while now, and very happy wih it. I want to further my system now, and learn about SMP in linux.

Basically i want to setup SMP on my main pc and my laptop if such a thing is possible. And i wanted some links to know where to start in the first place. Cause all i keep finding on the web is information about how a guy or someone else did his ,

There is a SMP howto here: http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/SMP-HOWTO.html

but it is little out of date, I think.

The gist of it is though...if you are knowledgeable enough about the hardware side of setting up a SMP box, including cooling and all that, on the software side, Linux will take care of balancing tasks between the two cpu's itself, as long as you set it up when compiling a kernel.

I think even that most major distros will even detect it when installing.

after a few more research, i found an article here
http://www-106.ibm.com/developerwork...uxmosix-i.html

which contained just what i needed, using MOSIX. it is a nice practical tutorial, so i just thought id send the link for anywant who wanted to give it a try. it's well worth reading it. just need to register first.

cheers for the help.
