smb4k issues

I upgraded my system (gentoo) and when I went to run smb4k (which used to work correctly) I get the following and then it just hangs there and does nothing. Sometimes I can see the window open and close real quick. I've also reinstalled all the kde libs that I had installed when the program worked.

Code:
 smb4k
QPixmap: Cannot create a QPixmap when no GUI is being used
QPixmap: Cannot create a QPixmap when no GUI is being used
QPixmap: Cannot create a QPixmap when no GUI is being used
QPixmap: Cannot create a QPixmap when no GUI is being used

I had a similar problem with another app, i had to kill some mimetypes in my $HOME/.kde/mimetypes folder to kill them. try running smb4k from a terminal window, so you can catch all the errors i.e.
run rxvt (my favorite)
then do a

smb4k 1>$HOME/everything.log 2>&1

then you can more everything.log and see what happened.

The code section in my first post is the exact output of smb4k 1>$HOME/everything.log 2>&1
I also removed my .kde and any tmp files that were linked to smb4k's errors (since kde would generate a new set and fix what's broken if anything is broken) but that yielded the same error.
