Slow OpenGL, can't uninstall Mesa

I installed Mesa earlier today for debugging purposes, and then I tried to uninstall it (I'm using Debian Testing btw). I then reinstalled the NVidia drivers. But now OpenGL stuff runs really slow. When I run glxgears I get about 10 FPS. When I run glxinfo it reports that direct rendering is supported and it says I'm using the Nvidia driver. I've checked the opengl libraries in /usr/lib and they're all pointing to Nvidia's libraries, not mesa's.

What do I need to do?

I'm just wondering...
In your XF86Config file, could you look for something that loads either the module "drm" or "glx" (it's usually near the top).

I'm not sure how Mesa works, however, so I'm not sure if it changes it.
It's just a hunch.
