oh, is this a problem with mouse jerkiness, rather than a problem with slow responsiveness? the whole time i thought it was a slow computer problem but it may be an incompatability problem with the mouse. i had the same problem with some distros with a 7-button mouse. it sort of goes fast and then slow, fast, slow, etc. because it doesn't recognize the mouse correctly. yes, try a new mouse if that's the case.

it is a problem with slow responsiveness. my mouse movements are smooth and my computer is not so slow: AthlonXP2000, 512mb ram, GeforceFX5200.

Its ok though, i guess i can live with this.

If you use a preemptive kernel, it might help. It supposed to be more responsive.

when i recompiled my kernel, i made sure that i had that option on.
