Slow keys in KDE
My laptop has problems when typing: everytime I press a key, the letter is typed twice or more... Example: "hheeloo".
I have been able to solve this problem in GNOME by activating Slow Keys to 30 msec. However, the minimum for KDE is too high and I can't type at all! Is there any other option that I can use so that the keys are slowed down, or is there any way I can reduce this limit in the Slow Keys function? Thank you for your patience in reading this :) |
This probably isn't the case, but the problem may be a physical one with your keyboard (i.e. something sticky is keeping the keys from springing back up as fast as they should).

No. It happens in every key... and it is rather normal, I'd say, because my laptop has got buttons that are too thin... And, as I have said, I have been able to sort that problem out with GNOME.

Or could you tell me what's the file to which the KDE Slow Keys information is stored into? Maybe I can manually fix the number I want.

If it's before KDE 3.1.4 you can edit the /etc/X11/XF86Config and make it so that you repeat rate is lower...maybe that'll work for ya?

I have KDE version 3.1.4. However, I'm not sure what I should edit in the XF86Config... there is a section for keyboard but there's only
Identifier "Keyboard1" Driver "Keyboard" Option "XkbModel" "pc105" Option "XkbLayout" "es" Option "kbCompat" "" Opion "XkbOption" " I'm not sure whether there's something there that can be edited. :P I found a webpage: Quote:
But I'm not sure if that's what I need / what exactly I must do :P |
