slow firefox

Firefox upgraded to ver. 3.0 and it is slow as snails in January. Click on something and there is a looong delay. Anyone else had this problem. Using KDE desktop.

I`ve noticed the same thing with Slack-12.1. Also pictures on
web pages that can be enlarged are black and bookmarks don`t
show on "bookmark this page".

I started to post basically your question but found this thread.

I'm finding scripts running in the background, some of which freeze the box. Firefox eventually comes back and says "Do you want to stop this script?" I think this is the 100% cpu problem. The fancy windows on ebay seller's pages which cycle through various products and zoom the one in the middle are good for instigating trouble.
