Slow Down a Song
Is there any Linux programs out there which will play an audio file (wav, mp3. etc) and can adjust the tempo? I am learning how to play the guitar and it is much easier to learn the beat of a song if you slow it down. Thanks.

Rezound is the tool I would use for the job

That program doesn't support MP3s. Any others?

It certainly does support mp3's

I have version .10 beta. Which version are you using? I do not see mp3 in the list of file types. When I try to open one I get a message saying mp3s aren't supported. I am downloading version .12. I'll let you know if that works.

I'm using version 0.12.0beta. It's a pain to compile because it depends on quite a few other things, but I it's worth it because it does the job of editing music really well. You'll need LAME installed to edit mp3's

Try alsa-player. It lets you adjust the tempo (but not pitch) of the song using a slider. And yes, it supports mp3 files.

The program mpg123 could help. Install it via the package/software management of your linux distribution.

I ended up using Alsa-Player. Thanks for the suggestions.
