Slllooooowww Picasa uploads
trying to upload pics to picasaweb albums. In kphotoalbum, it crashes immediately upon running the export command. DigiKam works, but uploads in the 6 KB/s range, and has frequent breaks with the server requiring user intervention ("reconnect with server?"). Picasa3 application doesn't have the server breaks, but does suffer the same slow upload speed. Don't know if windows versions have the same problems. Any insights? Anybody else having the same problems?

Not really. I get quiet good upload speed with picasa. Sure it isn't your network connection?

I am using Gentoo and Picasa 2.7. Gentoo compiles it for my specific CPU etc, so will be faster in execution. I am using the default setup in Picasa and that upload manager function in there.

hmm. i'm using version 3.0, pre-compiled 64 bit. interestingly (?), the uploads are only slow if the file size is greater than 1-1.5 MB or so. if the file is smaller, or if i elect to upload a lower resolution, the transfer speed is much faster. in addition, if the file is larger (>2 MB), the first 1 MB or so uploads quickly, and then it slows to a crawl...
