Slight Problem with mozilla. This is an easy one, so please read
Dear All,
I don't know why but on some sites, Mozilla would not let me log in saying something about me needing some sort of "PSM" software. Upon me going to Google and doing a simple search I found a page that says PSM comes with the major builds of Mozilla. I'm using the latest version of Mozilla available (Mozilla 1.0 Release Candidate 3 Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.0rc3) Gecko/20020523). Does anyone know how I can fix this issue? I'm running SuSE Linux Professional 7.3 by the way :) |
PSM is the Mozilla Personal Security Manager, among other things it deals with https connections. How you install it depends on how you installed Mozilla in the first place, generally just look for a matching RPM or DEB with "psm" in it, that should add the required fuctionality. If you didn't install from RPM or DEB, I have no idea.

I downloaded the RPM from rpm.pbone.net. Let me search it again for the PSM thingy :)
Thanx buddy :D |

OK, I downloaded the RPM from mozilla.org and it solved the problem. However I have another important problem!
I Need to install Macromedia Flash. I went to the macromedia site, downloaded and extracted the tarball, then followed their directions which where tailored for Netscape. I had to copy a couple of files to /usr/lib/netscape (/usr/lib/mozilla of coarse), and it didn't do Ja** ***!!! I also tried to install flash 6 for Netscape 6 this way and it didn't do a single thing! The instructions on the macromedia site are both ancient and useless. Can anyone help? Thanx |
You have to install the files to /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins.
|
Sweet! Thanx. That solved it. Those instructions on the site are soooooooooo bad.
Thanx again :) |
