Slideshow software recommendation for OpenSuse

I loaded OpenSuse on an old machine and have kept it because it found every device seems easy to use.

I need a program that will display all the jpg's in a directory and its subdirectory as a slideshow. The ability to display data from the IPTC information would be great.

I need something simple and easy as this will be used by non-computer windows users. I want them to be able to just copy something from a flash drive and then press go.

Can this be done with a screensaver?

GQView works well for that sort of thing, but then so does a screen saver.
