slideshow program

i have images categorized into folders and i have many-many folders. some of them only contain 1-2 images. sometimes i need to show a slideshow of these images. i need to show them all together in a row - select multiple folders and show all the images in them. unfortunately all the linux programs i know (i have tried 9 so far) can only produce a slideshow of 1 certain folder.
is there a program that meets my needs?

you might be able to make a $BASH shell script using awk/gawk to do this

Code:
man awk
