Slax configsave "can't write to ..."

Hi I'm pretty new to Linux and am running Slax off my thumb drive. I am having problems trying to use configsave to save my settings and files. I have saved the file before and it worked, but when I try to rerun...

configsave ..mnt/sdb1_removable/modules/

I get the following two messages...

saving changes to ..mnt/sdb1_removable/modules/
can't write config to ..mnt/sdb1_removable/modules/

I want to save to the modules folder on my thumb drive so the config file will load at the boot. When I do this I am loged on as root and in my ~ directory. I thought .. brought me back a directory to / were I could then go forward to the folder desired. I'm sure its just something stupid, but any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Figured out that problem but a new one comes back

After a restart or two useing rewriting that configuration file in modules when I login I get this message...

No directory, logging in with HOME=/

I was using an alias for that configsave command and the command no longer exists. Am I making another stupid mistake?

The file isn't ..mnt, it's /mnt. So the code would be
configsave /mnt/sdb1_removable/modules/

slax, usb boot
