slackware64 current (with PAM) on an intel based tablet computer (without a hardware keyboard)

If any of you have the information below conveniently at hand, would you be so kind as to please answer either or both of the below questions:

Has anyone heard of a linux kdm/gdm equivalent meant for tablets with a screen based keyboard for entering a password or PIN?

Or, can KDE4/KDE5 autologin be used to bring up an xfce4 session without a hardware keyboard?

My reason for the inquiry is described at length below.

I am concerned that the recent implementation of PAM in slackware current will kill the workaround that lets my gemini lake based tablet start in graphical mode in xfce4 with no password prompt.
I have not updated slackware on the tablet since the change. I have backed up its eMMC "hard drive" to a usb pendrive and my desktop hard drive.

I am loathe to start messing with it, since it is currently my ereader machine and I use it daily. The tablet is blessed with a working powered microusb port so attaching a keyboard & mouse is possible during setup or rescue but defeats the purpose of the device in normal usage.

I am going to setup my unused old core 2 duo laptop as a test machine and install slackware64-current on it and start doing autologin experiments on its more convenient and more useless chassis before making changes to my tablet. My first step will be to confirm the solution I have already implemented is dead. If it still works I will be very surprised, but will mark this post as solved.

All of the autologin discussions in the slackware PAM thread seemed to focus on KDE. I don't want to autologin to KDE. I would like autologin to Xfce4. It is much more suited to my celeron N4000 tablet with non-upgradable 32GB eMMC storage.

I feel foolish. Non-issue.

Installed my test laptop and adding "su username -c /usr/X11R6/bin/startx" to rc.local still works to give promptless xfce4 desktop.
Wasted 4 hours total between backups & install.
At least if anyone has the same question in the future they will know this trick still worked for me after PAM was first added to current.
