Slackware installed on dual processor machine but only seeing 1...

I've installed Slackware Linux (with 2.2.19 kernel). When I look at a stats page for my server it is telling me that I have only one processor installed. I infact have 2. Is a dual processor setup not automatically detected on installation and if not how do I make it recognise both processors?

Thanks in advance,

Simon

Ok, I have learnt that I need to have SMP support in my Kernel. I have never compiled my own Kernel, I just used a pre-compiled one that had support for my ata drive controller. How straightforward is it to recompile my kernel leaving all modules currently loaded but just including the additional smp part?

Regards,

Simon
