slackware installation
I am trying to install slackware linux and I have installed it twice, but neither time will it boot. After I complete the installation and restart, I get an operating system not found message. If I put in a boot floppy it will work. This is my first time with slackware (normally use redhat) I have fdisked a swap partition and a root partition, is there one I might be missing. Can someone please give me some ideas on what I have done wrong? Thanks in advance.

first (im not a moderator) this would probably do better posted in the slackware forum. second when you go through the install and it asks you where / how to install lilo... it will list the MBR (master boot record) as an option, a dangerous one, but an option... everytime I have install slackware (about 8 or 9 times) unless I have installed lilo to the MBR it will not boot. So make sure that you are installing lilo to the MBR during setup.

you prolly didn't get a boot loader installed. Slackware uses the Lilo boot loader. Make sure after the packages are installed that you go through the rest of the installation. If you still have problems you can ask in the Slackware forum. :)
