Slackware 13.37 Sendmail - Postfix 2.8.6

Interesting problem. I have been trying to move over to Maildir without much luck.

I can get the mail to be sent to mail dir with no problems at all. But when a client machine goes to check the mail it gets no new messages when there is messages.

It doesn't seem to be checking the email in Maildir/new I suspect it's still checking mbox.

I tried the procmailrc file in /etc as well as the .procmailrc file in the user directory but that doesn't help getting the email that is sitting in the Maildir/new directory.

So currently I've been forced to use sendmail until I get this figured out.

Thanks for any help you can give.

procmail doesn't help configure how a machine accesses the mail (when last I used it) but instead changes which folders contain the mail.

Is the client machine remote from where the server or are you operating on the server itself?

If it's the latter, you could do
mutt -f Maildir/new
If I remember correctly.

As mentioned, I can get the mail to be sent to the Maildir just fine after creating the procmailrc file under /etc.

Once the mail is going to Maildir it can't get picked up from Maildir. It would "seem" it's still checking mbox location that sendmail uses.

When I switched back to sendmail and it puts mail in the mbox location it's all fine collecting mail again.

I don't know how else to say this.
I'm trying to figure out what I need to do so when mail is checked it's checked in the Maildir location.
