Slackware 10.1 and MTools

Hello,

I'm using Slackware 10.1 and am having a problem with MTools.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I can't seem to get MTools to format DOS floppies with support longer file names.

Slack doesn't seem to recognize

mtools -t vfat /dev/fd0

This leaves me having to use

mtools -t msdos /dev/fd0

which, of course, gives me truncated file names.

Anyone know a way around this? I believe Red Hat/Fedora supports the vfat option, so there must be some hack or add on?

Thanks.

Opps, I meant

mformat -t vfat /dev/fd0

and

mformat -t msdos /dev/fd0

Sorry.

I may be mistaken, but I thought that whether you see/get truncated filenames on a FAT filesystem depends on how you mount it, not how you format it.

Once formatted, try mounting with "mount -t vfat" and see whether you can use long filenames.
