Slackware 10.0 Kernel Problem!

So after i installed Slackware 10.0, and i used startx, it boots up as KDE, which is the kernel i chose at the install. But now after modifying my inittab file to default level being 4, my linux automatically loads Gnome. Now i want KDE to be my loading GUI, i'm not a big gnome fan. I even tried to modify my rc.4 file so kde comes before gnm, but still gnome gui is booted. Like the login screen is different after changing the rc.4 file, but the actual os gui is gnome. Any suggestions or help will be greatly appreciated.

On the login screen there will be a dropdown menu from which you can select KDE as ur default desktop environment.

Check your ~/.xinitrc and if you don't have one the global xinitrc (located at /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xinit/xinitrc) and change the last line(s) to use startkde instead of the gnome startup script.
