[SOLVED] skype voice delay

My mother uses computers for skype, card games and browsing. Her laptop was really ancient so I gave her my old one. I installed Ubuntu i386 10.10 on it.
She really likes it. There's a small problem with skype. When she speaks to people, they complain they hear her with a noticeable delay.
Is there anything that can be done to fix it?

Should have done more googling before posting. Apparently it's a pulse audio problem. I'll try to remove it and change the sound device in skype.
