Skype starting error !!!


Hi,

I have downloaded Skype and install successfully.

http://www.skype.com/products/skype/linux/

when i try to run from from GUI it look like starting and disapper. when i try from console. i got following error.

[root@domain sysconfig]# skype &
[1] 7037
[root@domain sysconfig]# Engine::init invoked. user is
skype: relocation error: skype: undefined symbol: _ZN7QActionC1EP7QObjectPKc

any idea? how to make exactualble?

which skype did you download? have you tried the static one?

OK, I have download .bz2 file and uncompress it. i have try with the following things.

Now, what to do? am i doing some thing worng? OR do i need to configure this package.(make, make insatll)

I have READ the README file.

The guy was right... It doesn't matter which distro you are using (to a certain extend) but you should check which version of qt you have installed. To do this, type qtconfig and go see the About Qt in the help menu. If you don't have Qt 3.2 at least (which I suspect), then don't download the dynamic one, but the static one with Qt 3.2 installed in it. If you do have Qt 3.2 installed, then the dynamic should work.
