Skype on FC6

I have a Dell laptop that was running Fedora Core 4. We used it mostly for Skype. I loaded FC6 on the machine and then installed Skype for FC6. The sound seems to be totally messed up. We just get a constant tone. As far as I can tell we can't get out. My first interest is getting Skype up on the FC6 instaliation. But if not I'll go back to FC4, but then where do I find the older version of Skype. I've been looking and haven't been able to fine any sites that have older versions.

I've tried to delete the program and then reinstal (no success). Now I've deleted the program and am doing a full "yum update" on the system to make sure we have all the updates before trying another instalation.

Suggestions?

Did you try Skype's repo:
http://www.skype.com/download/skype/...ositories.html
It will install the latest beta.

It's their beta that is causing the problem... What I want to do is to back up to an older version.
